nohz=off (Aug 2008)
I discovered the 'nohz=off' boot parameter for the Linux kernel a few days ago. With absolutely dire Ubuntu performance on a Lenovo T61p, this parameter was salvation. Firefox 3 no longer spends untold seconds hogging the machine when it fsync()'s and VMWare Workstation actually runs smoothly. A tip if you're experiencing poor performance on your Ubuntu 8.04 system (2.6.24 kernel): try booting with the aforementioned parameter.
The 'Unsorted' section has been updated (Sep 2007)
I revived an old DNS tool, and found a dumb bug in the Promise NAS NS4300N GUI (dumb bugs are good for enabling functionality).
Welcome to 1994 (May 2007)
Ok, so I cheat by using a little CSS, but I finally got around to changing the look of the old site (I had to do something other than programming while the hardware is failing to support it - yep, full service has yet to resume, much like the trains I have to rely on to get to work).

Here's hoping the site is finally W3 compliant.
